SportLine LASEKCorrection for an active life
An advanced method of laser vision correction for athletes, military personnel and people who lead an active lifestyle. The laser works on the surface of the cornea, without creating a flap, so impacts pose no threat to the result.

about the method
Why flap-free correction suits athletes
Sport brings change into your life — and also blows, falls and physical strain. SportLine LASEK preserves the integrity of the cornea, so it suits people for whom an eye injury is a real risk.
LASIK
The surgeon creates a thin corneal flap, the laser works beneath it, and the flap is then put back in place.
SportLine LASEK
The epithelium is moved aside and the laser works on the surface of the cornea. No flap is created within the cornea.
In classic LASIK, part of the cornea is lifted in the form of a flap. After surgery it settles back into place, but a strong blow to the eye can still displace it.
SportLine LASEK is a surface method: the surgeon works with the epithelium, which then regenerates. There is no flap, so contact sports and military service carry no additional risk for the treated cornea.
The correction is performed using a cold method used only at our clinic: the temperature of the cornea rises by no more than 1°C during the procedure. This preserves the natural structure of the tissue and speeds up recovery.
An individual correction programme is calculated for every patient using state-of-the-art equipment. This is the method chosen by Olympic champions.
how it works
Three stages to life without glasses
Diagnostics
A full examination of the cornea and the fundus. The doctor takes your sport or type of service into account and calculates an individual correction programme.
Correction
Under local anaesthetic eye drops, the epithelium is moved aside and the laser reshapes the profile of the cornea using the cold method.
Recovery
The epithelium heals under a protective lens. At the follow-up examination, the doctor will tell you when you can return to training.
the procedure step by step
How SportLine LASEK works with the cornea
The cornea is the clear front part of the eye that focuses light. The laser changes its shape so that the image lands precisely on the retina. Follow the surgery step by step: the deep layers of the cornea are not cut.

Martial arts and boxing
Blows to the head are a constant risk. With SportLine LASEK, no flap is created in the cornea, so there is nothing to be displaced by a blow.

SportLine LASEK and LASIK
Both methods reshape the cornea with a laser. The difference lies in how the surgeon gains access to the tissue.

questions
Frequently asked questions about SportLine LASEK
How is SportLine LASEK different from LASIK?
In LASIK, the surgeon creates a corneal flap and works beneath it. In SportLine LASEK, the laser works on the surface of the cornea and no flap is created, so there is no risk of it being displaced by a blow.
When can I return to training?
The timing depends on how the epithelium heals and the type of physical activity. Your doctor will determine it at the follow-up examination.
What will I feel in the first few days?
While the epithelium is healing, you may experience sensitivity to light and watery eyes. The protective lens and the eye drops your doctor prescribes make this period more comfortable.
Is the procedure painful?
No. The correction is carried out under local anaesthetic eye drops. Patients usually feel only light pressure.
How much does SportLine LASEK cost?
The cost depends on your clinical indications and the complexity of your case. See current prices on the “Prices” page or ask during your consultation.
How should I prepare?
Start with a pre-operative examination. If you wear contact lenses, your doctor will tell you how many days before the diagnostic exam you need to stop wearing them.
