The natural lenses (crystals) of the eye are replaced with artificial lenses with the correct parameters for good near and far vision at any age.
Refractive lens replacement – BiVision RLE, an effective technique to improve vision for both reading and everyday life. You will see well far and near without glasses all your life.
You will never have cataracts. Thus, refractive lens replacement can prevent the need for cataract surgery (which all of us get if we live long enough) in the future.
This surgery is more suitable for patients over 45 to 50 years of age (the age at which you need reading glasses, presbyopia develops). The advantage of this procedure is that the multifocal lens is used to correct both distance and near vision.
This will free you from the need for glasses for the rest of your life. Refractive lens replacement is also recommended for younger patients who are contraindicated to laser vision correction (for example, due to the thickness of the cornea).
Are you over 45 years old? You have never used glasses, but lately your eyes are getting tired more and more quickly when working at close distances and you have already been prescribed your first glasses for work. This problem is called presbyopia or age-related farsightedness. With today’s level of technology, you can completely get rid of eyeglass addiction once and for all with a simple intervention – refractive lens replacement.
The British Eye Clinic has been carrying out this method of treatment for more than 10 years, with more than 30,000 such operations performed with the unique RayOne Trifocal lens from the UK firm Rayner, called BiVision RLE.
Benefits of BiVision RLE:
- forget about glasses. Forever. Correction of presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) with improvement of visual acuity near and far. Take your glasses off and never wear them again;
- not suitable for laser correction? BiVision RLE gets rid of any kind of myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism;
- only premium quality. From day one of the clinic, we have refused to use conventional lenses, cheap consumables. Instead of your lens, only the best English lenses by Rayner are implanted;
- you will never develop cataracts again. In addition to removing the crystalline lens, our surgeon carefully polishes the lens capsule (sac) in EVERY case at our clinic, which increases postoperative visual acuity;
- in our clinic, we use the English iQ 5 Minutes water flow technique for lens replacement. The procedure is performed without using ultrasound, which is used in conventional lens ablation, which does not cause stressful destructive effects on the cornea and other structures of the eye. The crystalline lens is gently removed in less than 5 minutes using only water;
- the highest level of surgery. Our doctors have an innumerable work experience in clinics of Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, no less than 10 years of surgical experience, constantly updating their skills at international congresses;
- we are ahead of time. The opinion of our surgeons is taken into consideration by the most renowned manufacturers who supply equipment that has not yet been put into circulation for testing in order to make adjustments in its performance.

British Ophthalmological Center

Shuhaley Oleksandr Volodymyrovych
Laser vision correction
I, Alexander Vladimirovich Shugaley, turned to the British Ophthalmological Center on the recommendation of friends. On November 26, 2019, I was diagnosed here using modern equipment. As a result, I was diagnosed not only with farsightedness and astigmatism, but also with a βlazy eye.β Laser vision correction using the most modern Excimer equipment was recommended. I made up my mind and on December 4, 2019, I had this operation. Afterwards I felt sand in my eyes, pain, fear of light, but by night I felt better. The next day there was a free inspection. Then in another month I need to come for an examination. In general, I am very pleased with the attitude of the staff; the center is very cozy. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. Thanks to the professionals for the excellent work and my new vision. Doctor Tyazhkaya Natalya Petrovna performed my operation brilliantly, for which I thank her very much!

Laser vision correction
I underwent laser vision correction at the British Ophthalmology Center, and I am 100% satisfied with the operation. After 3 hours I could open my eyes and had almost no discomfort. The operation was in the morning, and in the afternoon I was able to drive as comfortably as possible. I had the surgery on the recommendation. I am satisfied with the staff and management before, during and after the surgery.

Laser vision correction
Good afternoon. I would like to share my impressions, namely: over the six months (June-October 2019) I underwent three operations at the British Ophthalmological Center. It was a dream, and it came true thanks to the work of the center's highly qualified employees. I express my gratitude to Lesya Vladimirovna Parkhomchuk (he treated ptosis of the eyelids), Heavy Natalya (laser vision correction) and Sergei Anatolyevich Konyukh (anesthesiologist who helped during the operations) - you are real professionals, thank you. In addition, I express my gratitude to the ordinary staff for the good atmosphere and support. This is very important at all stages. I hope your work will bring health to many more of your patients.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Refractive lens replacement is a microsurgical procedure that involves replacing the natural lens of the eye with an artificial one. This surgery is typically performed to correct refractive vision issues such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia (age-related decline in near vision). Refractive lens replacement is an effective alternative to laser vision correction for patients who are unsuitable for it due to the eyeβs structure or a high degree of myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism.
βThe price may vary depending on the complexity of the case, the patientβs individual characteristics, and the type of intraocular lens. It is recommended to consult a doctor to determine the full cost of treatment in each specific case.β
Choosing the best lens option for refractive lens replacement depends on several factors, including the patientβs individual needs, lifestyle, and vision characteristics. A comprehensive eye examination and consultation with a doctor are essential to assess your vision and make the best decision for your needs.
Refractive lens replacement surgery typically takes about 5 minutes per eye. The process is quick due to modern technologies and minimally invasive methods.
Refractive lens replacement surgery is usually painless. Local anesthesia in the form of eye drops is used during the procedure to numb the eye and minimize any discomfort.
After refractive lens replacement, it is essential for the patient to follow certain restrictions. Key recommendations include:
- avoiding physical exertion, heavy lifting, and active sports during the first weeks;
- refraining from using saunas, pools, or swimming in open water for a month to prevent infections. When showering, avoid getting water or soap into your eyes;
- wearing sunglasses outdoors to protect your eyes from bright light and dust, as the eyes may be sensitive to light in the first weeks after surgery;
- avoiding sudden head tilts downward to prevent increased intraocular pressure;
- sleeping on your back or on the side opposite the operated eye during the first few days. Also, avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands or other objects to prevent injury.
Vision recovery after refractive lens replacement surgery depends on several factors, but most patients notice improved vision the day after surgery.
In most cases, lens replacement surgery is performed on one eye at a time. The interval between surgeries usually ranges from one day to a month, depending on the patientβs individual characteristics and the doctorβs recommendations.
