iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3DCold laser correction

A modern and safe method of improving vision with a refractive laser. During the procedure, the temperature of the cornea rises by no more than 1°C, so the tissue keeps its natural structure and recovery takes 1–2 days.

  • myopia
  • hyperopia
  • astigmatism

The final correction method is chosen by your doctor after a full diagnostic exam.

about the method

What “cold” laser correction means

The laser reshapes the cornea in a matter of seconds. With iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D, this happens without thermal damage to the tissue.

Standard LASIK

The laser power is calculated using standard nomograms, and no additional protection of the tissue from the radiation is used.

iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D

The power is calculated using the clinic’s own nomograms, and the cornea is protected during the procedure by a special protective solution.

During correction, the laser reshapes the cornea: in a few seconds it vaporises a precisely defined amount of tissue with high accuracy, so that light focuses correctly on the retina.

The power of the refractive laser is calculated using nomograms developed at the clinic. A nomogram is a special calculation method, and ours is the intellectual property of the British Ophthalmological Centre.

A protective solution is used during the procedure. It shields the eye from the free radicals formed by laser radiation and helps achieve higher visual acuity after correction.

3D monitoring tracks the position of the eye while the laser is working. The temperature of the cornea rises by no more than 1°C, so the natural structure of the tissue is preserved and recovery is faster.

how it works

From diagnostics to clear vision

01

Diagnostics

A full examination: visual acuity, corneal topography, corneal thickness and shape, and the condition of the fundus. The doctor determines whether the method is right for you and gives advice on how to prepare.

02

Correction

Your eyes are numbed with drops. The laser works for just seconds under 3D monitoring, while the protective solution shields the cornea. Most patients feel only light pressure.

03

Recovery

Recovery takes 1–2 days. You receive written instructions on eye drops and restrictions, and the doctor carries out a follow-up examination.

the procedure step by step

What happens to the cornea during iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D

The cornea is the clear front part of the eye that focuses light. The laser changes its shape so that the image lands precisely on the retina. Follow the surgery step by step.

    comparison

How iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D differs from standard LASIK

Both methods reshape the cornea beneath a thin flap. The difference lies in how the laser power is calculated and how the tissue is protected.

    • How the laser reaches the corneaThe surgeon creates a thin corneal “flap”, and the laser works beneath it.

The correction is performed on the WaveLight EX500 excimer laser — genuine equipment from Alcon. It is serviced by certified Alcon engineers, so the laser works with the precision the manufacturer designed it for.

    who it’s for

Who your doctor may recommend iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D for

The method may be right for you if

    • you have short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism
    • you want to be free of glasses and contact lenses without a long break from work or study
    • a method that is gentle on corneal tissue matters to you
    • you plan to get back to your usual routine within just 1–2 days

The decision is made after a diagnostic exam

    • the doctor assesses the thickness and shape of your cornea, the condition of your eyes and your general health
    • contraindications: a thin cornea, inflammation, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and certain systemic diseases
    • if the method is not right for you, the doctor will suggest a different one

    questions

Frequently asked questions about iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D

Why is the correction called “cold”?

During the procedure, the temperature of the cornea rises by no more than 1°C. This is achieved thanks to the clinic’s nomograms for calculating laser power and the protective solution, so the corneal tissue suffers no thermal damage.

    Is the procedure painful?

No. The correction is carried out under local anaesthetic eye drops. Patients usually feel only light pressure.

    How long does recovery take?

Recovery takes 1–2 days. Your doctor will tell you at the follow-up examination when you can get back to computer work, sport and swimming.

Which vision problems does the method correct?

Short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Whether the procedure can be performed is determined after a full examination.

How much does iQ-LASIK Oxygen 3D cost?

The cost depends on your clinical indications and the complexity of your case. See current prices on the “Prices” page or ask during your consultation.

    How should I prepare?

Start with a pre-operative examination. If you wear contact lenses, your doctor will tell you how many days before the diagnostic exam you need to stop wearing them.
