ProvisumLASIK — the Most Intelligent Procedure in Excimer Laser Surgery

Laser vision correction

What is laser vision correction

Laser vision correction is a surgical shift of the eye’s optical focus onto the retina by changing the profile of one of the eye’s “lenses”. Such precision became possible only after excimer lasers were introduced into clinical practice. These lasers allow surgeons to achieve their goals quickly, accurately, and — most importantly — in a fully automated way.

How the laser correction program is created

A key factor in the success of the procedure is setting the correct task for the laser based on the initial state of the eye — the so-called correction program.

Parameters considered by a refractive surgeon

The refractive surgeon must take into account many parameters and their interactions, including:

  • age
  • gender
  • current refraction and its progression
  • keratometric values
  • other individual ocular parameters.

Why nomograms are used

Since the human brain cannot reliably analyze complex interactions between many variables simultaneously, surgeons often rely on simplified correction programs based on manufacturer-provided nomograms.

ProvisumLASIK technique

More than 15 years of experience in refractive surgery have enabled us to develop our own technique — ProvisumLASIK.

The idea behind the method

Several years ago, we were inspired by scientific publications from colleagues proposing the concept of optimized nomogram development, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

Artificial intelligence in modern medicine

Today neural networks are widely used in many fields, including:

  • stock trading
  • psychodiagnostics
  • cheminformatics
  • neurocontrol systems
  • economics
  • industrial processes.

Similar technologies are also used in text prediction and voice assistants in modern smartphones.

Database of 50,000 laser procedures

Over several years we created a registry of 50,000 laser vision correction procedures, including:

  • preoperative data
  • correction programs
  • treatment outcomes.

How the analysis system works

Using professional software and neural-network–based algorithms, we learned to analyze and rank all relevant factors before surgery and determine the most precise correction program, taking into account all ocular parameters and the patient’s individual characteristics.

Advantages of ProvisumLASIK

With the ProvisumLASIK technique, laser vision correction has become extremely precise in achieving the intended results.

We look forward to seeing you in our clinic!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The article explains: personalized laser correction, optical system focusing and precise planning. It helps patients understand what to pay attention to and when an ophthalmologist consultation is needed.

  • No. The material is informational. Self-treatment may be unsafe because similar symptoms often have different causes.

  • Book an examination if symptoms recur, worsen, affect vision, or if you need a decision about surgery, laser treatment or medication therapy.
