How we prepare medical content
Blog articles and descriptions of conditions and services on eyes.ua are prepared by the team of the British Ophthalmology Centre. We write for patients: in plain language, without scaremongering and without promising results.
Who writes and who reviews
- Materials are prepared with the participation of the centre's ophthalmologists.
- Before publication, every medical article is reviewed by a doctor. Their name, position and a link to their profile are shown below the article in the “Reviewed by” block.
- If an article has a doctor as its author, they are listed separately as “Author”.
What we rely on
- Clinical guidelines and recommendations of professional bodies (including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, NICE, EURETINA and ESCRS).
- Peer-reviewed publications and data from equipment and lens manufacturers — only where they concern procedures we actually perform.
- The experience of our own doctors. We only publish figures and facts about the clinic that we can confirm.
Dates and updates
- Each article shows its publication date and the date of the last update.
- We review materials when guidelines, procedures or prices change, and correct inaccuracies as soon as we learn about them.
What we do not do
- We do not guarantee treatment results or diagnose through an article.
- We do not publish reviews or clinical cases without the patient's consent.
- We do not compare ourselves with other clinics or call ourselves “the best”.
